There is a lot to look forward to, so here are my guesses of the top releases...
Phones have always been showcased at any electronics show, but this CES is going to look at many new releases, including the Sony Xperia Z4, Xiaomi Mi5, Samsung Galaxy S6 and a few more.
The Xperia Z4 is said to be a flagship killer, with overblown specs (like a Snapdragon 810, 4 gig RAM and 4K display) and incomparable design. And its probably going to run Lollipop. Obviously, this one will surely give a kick start to Sony’s new year.
On the other hand, the Galaxy S6 is said to be the Korean company's redesigned phone, with much better build quality apart from the outstanding specs.
Xiaomi’s entry into the USA market might begin with the Mi5, another cheap killer. Again, it will feature the Snapdragon 810 chip and also a 20.7 MP camera.
Qualcomm, is yet to release its Snapdragon 810 chip we will see in all the flagship phones. The chip is sure to have 64-bit architecture and will be very powerful yet efficient.
And there will be some more great phone on the stable for sure. Maybe 2015 will look to standardise powerful, efficient smartphone technology!
TV’s have always been a trending topic at CES. Last year, the show was full of 4K TV’s. This time, we will probably be seeing improved 4K TV’s that are much more affordable as well as more 4K content to take advantage of them.
There will be 8K and possibly even 16K TV’s and projectors, in their initial stages. We might also see some huge screen TV’s presented at the expo.
2015 will be the year of wearables, especially smartwatches. It will be the year when wearables will be mainstream and affordable, and will have a load of added functionality hence increasing the need for getting one.
With the upcoming Apple Watch, all companies would be playing hard to gain their market share. Android Wear smartwatches will be showcased at the expo, but there will be a lot more new smartwatch makers which will create buzz. I’m personally looking forward to the advancements in fitness smartwatches that combine the best of sensors and apps to make for the ultimate wearable.
You read that right. Yes, finally 2015 might be the year when virtual reality is made and sold for the everyday consumer.
Oculus will show its VR tech with the Rift. There will be more companies that will join this segment, including Samsung. Who knows, VR might just become the next big leap in technology!
Looking forward to a very techy 2015! Keep Technoneding!
