Intel is going head-on against its primary market rival, AMD, with a refreshed set of high-end desktop CPUs. The top of the line Core i9 Extreme Edition processor boasts a whopping 18 cores and comes unlocked for overclocking.
After their teaser trailer from October last year, Nintendo has finally come on stage to announce all the specifics about the device. First of all, the console will retail for $299.99 in the US, alongside its release in Canada, Europe, Japan, Hong Kong and other countries on March 3, 2017.
The Switch is Nintendo’s bet in an area of gaming technology that never really caught along. A console which works great connected to a TV and be used as a personal portable gaming device usually results in significant compromises in design or processing capabilities. With the Switch, however, Nintendo is promising a smooth transition between physical gaming environments (hence the name “Switch”), all while playing fairly graphically intensive games.
There are three modes/styles of using the Switch:
Yesterday Sony announced the slimmer, lighter PS4 and the PS4 Pro - two new consoles that replace the original PS4. While the 'PS4' is just a slimmer version of the good old PS4, the 'PS4 Pro' is what really upgrades the performance. (Watch video below)
If there is one thing that has caught up A LOT in the past week, it is Pokémon Go. Not only is it a revival of old Pokémon memories, is also packs some unique Augmented Reality (AR) features. This Ingress style game has captivated millions, making it the #1 free app on both AppStore and Google Play in the few countries it is available in. In fact, new reports suggest that Pokémon Go, within a week of its release, has more active users than Tinder!
But the game hasn’t been all fancy for some players. From finding dead bodies to surviving road accidents, players of Pokémon Go have faced it all - and this is just the beginning.
From a collection of different sources, I’ve quoted some seriously scary (or hilarious) incidents that have occurred to the players.
And the list goes on!
But no, this won’t discourage Pokémon Go players, and it shouldn’t. As long as you are aware of your surroundings, as Niantic (the creator of the game) says, you are safe. The intention of the game is to get people moving, allowing them to explore the world and find new friends - all while trying to catch ‘em all. By all means, this game is a tremendous success.

The history of the Sony Playstation includes turmoil, rejection and then tremendous success. How did the most popular gaming consoles come to life? Find out in this well-documented video by ColdFusion.
Back in 2013, Microsoft announced the Xbox One console which immediately became a popular successor to the 360. The Xbox One is a powerful console, but lacks 4K support and is extremely large in size. At their E3 press release, Microsoft announced the new Xbox One S which will be available for $299 onwards starting this August and a more ambitious Xbox One Project Scorpio console that is expected late next year.
The video above highlights exactly what the One S is: a smaller yet even more powerful version of the original console. Xbox One S supports 4K Ultra HD content (not games) [like TV shows and YouTube] and Higher Dynamic Range (HDR) visuals. At the same time, it is 40% smaller by volume than the original One and has up to 2 TB storage and an integrated power supply.
The Xbox One S is built to be cross-platform. Xbox chief Phil Spencer said during the event, “While the console ecosystem is stronger than ever, most of us play games on more that one device – we want to deliver the choice to play the games you want on what you want, with who you want.” Not only will the One S support all titles of the Xbox One and 360 but games for PC too. With Xbox Play Anywhere, Microsoft aims to erase the line between PC and console gaming - making it seamless for gamers to switch between the two and play multiplayer on either platform.
With the Xbox One S comes an updated wireless controller with textured grip and latest Bluetooth technology for establishing cross-platform long range control.
But the One S is not the end of the story, and Microsoft has promised a new console - Project Scorpion - next year. This new console will be able to play true 4K games and power high fidelity Virtual Reality through its 6 teraflop graphics processor. Project Scorpion is going to be one of the first consoles for gamers to play next-generation games on.
