Technonerds is an idea that sprung up in one day, but took years to nurture...
It was back in September 2013 that the name “technonerd” was born. It was an adjective for me (Aditya Chinchure), because I was (and am) a technology nerd. On that day in 2013, I started a free Blogger blog called ‘iamatechnonerd.blogspot.com’. I wrote about Apple - everything from iPhone to jailbreaking - until my interest began to dwindle.
Technonerds began in 11th November 2014 as a proper blog website. As a passionate techie, I felt the need to share my knowledge with my friends and schoolmates. At that time, I was extremely interested in website building, thanks to my friend Krishna who introduced me to Weebly - the website builder I rely on till date to run Technonerds. In one day, I purchased a domain and set up a website, and that was the inception of this website.
Flash forward 2 years, and Technonerds is growing at a tremendous pace. With over 100,000 unique visitors, Technonerds is now more than just a blog, and it is transitioning into a phase of all new possibilities and opportunities.
The much needed redesign is here
Sometimes, you just need to play with shapes.
The original logo of Technonerds was… “Technonerds”, in uppercase using font Dosis. Now that it needed a revamp, I started playing with shapes on Sketch. The hexagon was an inspiration - the six vertices implied the six general topics I write about, including gadgets, artificial intelligence, automobiles, the internet, innovative products and future technologies. That, combined with a new colour palette, makes for a simple yet effective new Technonerds logo.
The website itself has been tweaked a little. The new palette extends across the website and the blog has a cleaner look. Animations will be a crucial part of the reading experience. The extra space provided by the removal of the sidebar will help text and images to show up wider, cleaning up the clutter of the previous website.
Finally, the navigation menu puts popular blog categories at your fingertips! The other sections of my website can now be accessed via the footer.
Over the next couple of days, the redesign will be complete, and the website should perform better than before.
Some things are meant to be secret. In the coming months, Technonerds’ team (yes, team!) will gradually grow and so will our reach. A few plans have been laid out, so Keep Technonerding, and you’ll find out!
I’d just like to take a minute and thank you, the readers of Technonerds, for being a part of this growing community. I hope that you will continue to enjoy reading Technonerds.
