Wait, is it a backpack or an electric skateboard?
Two years ago, Movpak introduced the 'The World's First Backpack Electric Vehicle’ by hooking up an electric skateboard to a backpack. However, the Miami based company failed to hit their $100,000 crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Now they are back with a bang, by reinventing the original backpack and adding a plethora of other gadgets and utilities to it.
As you can see in the image above, this backpack can double up as an electric skateboard, bluetooth speaker and microphone and battery pack, and even features inbuilt GPS tracking and front and rear headlamps. The electric skateboard is its main selling point though. The deck is made out of kevlar for extra strength and durability and there are two motors that drive the wheels to propel it to 20 miles/hour. Although it has a mere 14 miles of range, that’s enough for most city commuters. Plus, Movpak says that the backpack will fully charge in 2 hours. The skateboard is controlled using a wireless remote.
