The Mobile World Congress is an annual event for all things mobile, and even this year, it gave the stage to some great phones and accessories. MWC has this defining factor about it: it shows the world the future of smart wireless devices.
So apart from the thundering Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, the even had a lot more in stall. Here are the top 5 gadgets I found most interesting form the MWC 2015...
1. Samsung Galaxy S6 phones
The S6 and S6 Edge were, of course, the showstoppers at the event. They packed in a new design, upgraded specs, great camera and an interesting edge display. If you haven’t already read the full Galaxy S6 review, I’ve linked it below.
2. HTC One M9
The HTC One M9 was no surprise, sadly, and has the same design as the previous phone (M8). But that isn’t a bad thing at all, for the M8 was stunning phone to hold and was indeed one to the best feeling phones in hand. HTC ditched the Ultrapixel sensor on the back to replace it with a 20 MP sensor, and the Boom Sound dual front facing speakers are improved with Dolby technology. The internals have been snapped up, with the Snapdragon 810 chipset with 3 GB RAM. And in the software department, there is Lollipop with HTC Sense 7, a healthy upgrade from the Sense 6.
HTC has built a great phone, no doubt, but for those wishing for a new design may be slightly taken aback.
3. HTC Vive
HTC has been under collaborations before, and this time they did it with Valve, the makers of Steam. And what they pulled out is a VR headset, very similar looking to the Oculus, but far more better (it seems, according to various reviews). With this headset, HTC is bringing about its own virtual reality platform and with the help of steam, getting some great stuff onto the device. The device is set to launch sometime later this year and will be something to look forward to.
4. Huawei Watch
Huawei made heads turn this time at MWC with their surprisingly good looking Android Wear smartwatch, called Huawei Watch. The watch has an all metal build and a 1.4" circular display cover with sapphire. It comes with a huge collection of watch faces, a 4 GB storage and a Snapdragon processor with 512 MB RAM.
5. Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet
The Z4 Tablet waterproof 10” tablet that is stunningly slim at just 6.1 mm thickness. It all the top end specs, running an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor with 3 gigs of RAM. The 2K display is a beauty to look at and waterproofing has made this tablet stand out of the competition. Sony claims 2 days of battery life, but that is hard to believe in a tablet of that slimness. Sony has packaged this product really well, with the optional bluetooth keyboard + case that you can buy along with the tab.
