It's called the Nikola One, and it looks like this.
When pitted against a standard Indian truck, the Nikola One seems like something from the future. The design looks Audi-esque, and the materials reminds me of a very luxurious SUV. Every single panel is made of carbon fibre, and the internal design works to produce a safer centre of gravity - owing to the parts being placed below the frame rail.
Inside, the truck feels like a spaceship. There's a 42" curved LED television (with Apple TV), a microwave, 4G LTE, and two full-sized beds. Every component is built to ensure maximum driver comfort.
Answer: because it isn't! This is a real truck. It's powered completely by a 320Kwh battery pack, that has a CNG-powered turbine recharges the battery when it runs low. There are no greenhouse emissions, and the truck makes zero noise. The absence of a diesel motor (and related parts) makes the truck several thousand pounds lighter than a typical truck, and the instant torque offered by an electric motor translates to a very very quick acceleration - even at max load.
You can reserve one today for $1500, and it is expected to cost north of $300,000 when unveiled to the market.

P.S: it's a real thing.
