Holidays are perfect for spending time with family and friends. I’m on a week long vacation to Bangalore, the ‘Silicon Valley of India’, and I met one of my oldest friends: Vivek Vaidya (who has written for this blog before).
We decided to shoot a ‘Day in the life…’ video only using our iPhones (the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6S) and edit it using iMovie. Inspired by Casey Neistat’s YouTube vlogs, we took to the task and produced our own video, which you can watch above.
- We shot almost the entire movie in 1080p at 60 fps, although a lot of it has been sped up during our edits in iMovie.
- For the rain slow-motion, we shot 720p at 240 fps.
- We used no filters and/or third-party photography apps for the shoot. We simply used the inbuilt iPhone camera app to shoot all clips.
Shooting with an iPhone is extremely convenient, and I’m very satisfied with the colour and crispiness of the video. iMovie is extremely simple to use and it barely took us two hours to produce the clip.
Of course, credits to Casey Neistat (for inspiration), sparkybeats (on Soundcloud) and Marvel (to use a part of the Captain America: Civil War trailer). Thanks to Vivek for making May 6th 2016 a memorable day!
