There are a load of new apps available in stores, and I’m out exploring them. This post is mainly about 2 apps I've used for just over a week and found it worth mentioning on the blog. Here they are!
1. Boom 2 (for Mac OSX 10.10):
Lots of users complain about the sound quality of a Mac, especially a MacBook. Apple packs in enough technology in such a slim profile that the sound quality isn't really up to the mark.
Hence came Boom, a software for Mac to seriously improve the sound quality, the first of its kind that actually worked. It created wonders.
Just a few weeks ago, the developer, Global Delight, introduced the next generation of Boom, the Boom 2. They redesigned the whole software and recalibrate the equalisers to match the performance of the new MacBooks. But the most important thing- the app now auto discovers and calibrates your Mac's sound system by scanning its volume and usage, making a custom 'device specific' equaliser setting. That seriously, no kidding, gives some of the best quality sound output form your Mac. Moreover, the app intends to increase the previously low volume of the Mac speakers, without making the music shatter the speakers. And another addition to the features is individual music file improvement- drag and drop the music into the app to enhance it.
All in all, the app is amazing, and I've used it all the time (it runs quietly in the background), with and without my headphones. Yes, music quality is tremendously improved for headphone listening too. Must have for all music enthusiasts who own a Mac.
Try for 7 days or Buy ($14.99, Rs. 980): http://www.globaldelight.com/boom/
**If you haven't already upgraded to OSX 10.10 (Yosemite), you must do it for free form the Mac AppStore. Boom 2 only supports OSX 10.10.
2. Onavo Extend (iPhone, Android):
Ever wished you could get more out of your limited internet pack? Onavo helps you do just that. Once you install the app, you also need to install a VPN(Virtual Private Network) on your phone. Its extremely simple. And then… all your data is accessed via Onavo’s servers.
How does it all work? According to Onavo, “As your data travels from Onavo’s servers back to your phone, Onavo compresses it, increasing the power of your data plan by up to 500%.” Basically, Onavo Extend:
All this helps reduce you data usage, so you can get more out of less…
Onavo is completely free to use, so get it now!
Thats about it! If you like any of the above apps, or wish to clear you doubts on them, drop in a comment under the post. Do like and share, it helps the community! Enjoy Technonerds!
