Dà-Jiāng Innovations Science and Technology Co., Ltd (OH YES, that is DJI’s full name!) is the market leader when it comes to drones. But anyone would agree to the fact that DJI drones are costly and large, and are probably made for professionals.
Guess what, DJI has finally released a more “personal” drone for recreational flying - it’s small, foldable and easy to carry, and it isn’t outrageously expensive. Plus, it shoots 4K with optical image stabilisation, and has most of the features the Phantom 4 has!
This is the Mavic Pro:
The Mavic Pro has 27 high-perfomace computing cores, an all new transmission, 7km (4.3 miles) range, 27 minutes flight time, 40mph top speed and a 4K camera on a 3-axis gimbal. Obstacle avoidance systems, subject tracking and advanced GPS and GLONASS is built into this drone, just like on the Phantom 4. You can control the drone using the pocket-size controller (optionally attached to a phone) or using your smartphone itself.
The Mavic Pro is just in time to compete with the GoPro Karma drone, that has a lot of similar features. However, DJI has a better package for cheaper; plus, DJI has led the drone revolution, leading in reliability. I guess GoPro already took a big hit!
The drone will go on sale for $999 in the US, and you can buy one right now on DJI’s website!
