I’ll get straight to the point: 6.5 litre V-12, producing 789 horsepower and 530 pound-feet of torque.
Yes, the prancing horse has returned with a historically named car, the Superfast. It is a showcase of Ferrari’s best engine and newest technology. The V-12 that this car packs is the most powerful and most advanced engine in Ferrari’s history. Ferrari is also using it’s F1 inspired dual-clutch gearbox and for the first time, an electric power steering system.
"The 812 Superfast is equipped with leading-edge control systems and components, resulting in unparalleled handling and roadholding. It’s the first Ferrari to sport EPS (Electric Power Steering) which, in accordance with Ferrari’s uncompromising engineering approach, is used to fully exploit the potential of the car’s performance and, through the complete integration with all the electronic vehicle dynamics controls – including the latest 5.0 version of Ferrari’s patented Side Slip Control (SSC) – make its powerful performance easier to handle and even more thrilling to exploit.”
It’s not just the performance though. This car looks slick, just like most other Ferraris. The red paint job, the curves, the overall dimensions are very Ferrari-like. The big differentiator is the design of the rear spoiler edge, that really looks… different. It doesn’t look terrible, but it looks awkwardly different. The interior follows modern Ferrari styling.
