I came across thegrid.io through their Google Ad. I was impressed, so here I am writing about it.
The Grid is an interesting solution to a common problem. We have always considered website making a challenge. Earlier, building a website included a ton of steps, like buying a domain, getting a web hosting service, bringing them together, learning how to use tools and then designing the website. This isn’t true in today’s world: there are so many website builders available that provide simple drag and drop functionality and a good number of themes to start with. Still, it is quiet some work to put everything into place. The developers of The Grid wanted to solve this very problem.
“This is not another do-it-yourself website builder.”
The Grid doesn’t use templates. It uses “filters” that don’t drastically change how the site looks, but changes how your data is aligned on the page. The filters on The Grid are beautiful and simple; very modern, material looking. You can change the filter anytime without affecting any of your data.
The Grid is also great at eCommerce. Especially when loading up a product is as simple as dragging and dropping it (almost). It has an integrated billing system and the costs for setting up are fairly minimal.
There is no reason to avoid The Grid. It is extremely powerful, knows your data and is very intelligent. The Grid is not competing with other website builders, its already overpowering them.
For now, you can simply preorder the experience. The Grid will be coming in Spring, and I’ll sure be looking forward to it!
