At the Paris Motor Show yesterday, Renault showcased one of the most stunning concepts on the show-floor: the Trezor (no, it’s not Trevor). The Trezor is a electric GT, and it packs Renault’s Formula E drivetrain.
And then there is its crazy clamshell door:
Yes, the entire hood and top, a one piece clamshell, pops right up to help you get in and out of the car. This design also gives the driver and passenger a feeling of being cocooned in the beautiful interiors of the vehicle.
The interior is largely made of wood and leather - and a bunch of OLED displays. Renault did emphasise on the beauty of this interior and the red ambience lighting. All gauges and toggles are computer controlled, and the displays also bring all your smartphone apps to the larger screens.
Of course, just like other concepts, this car can drive itself, following the increasingly popular trend. Being a GT powered by Renault’s Formula E efforts, the Trezor has a 260kW (350hp) and 380Nm motor that allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in under four seconds. Plus, its design makes for an insanely low drag coefficient of 0.22.
While there are a lot more concepts that were showcased yesterday, the Renault Trezor stands out as one of the most futuristic and ridiculous concepts of them all. Can’t wait for the future!
