The Transition by Terrifugia became an internet sensation - it was one of the first working flying car concepts that flew. Terrifugia is back, after almost 4 years, with an all new flying car concept, the TF-X.
The TF-X looks far better than the Transition. It looks more slick, more plane like than its predecessor. Not just that, it is new in a lot of ways… The TF-X needs no runway, a 100ft diameter flat surface will do, much like a helicopter. The TF-X will feature a lot more sophistication as well. It’ll automatically avoid bad weather and restricted flying zones. It has an “automatic” mode, that works like autopilot, but is far more advanced. Surprisingly, Terrifugia has managed to put enough power into the TF-X that it’ll fly 500 miles on a single charge.
Terrifugia is expected to start selling the vehicle in 8-12 years, and thats not a lot of time in this fast paced world. However, it’ll be interesting to see the situation of flying cars at the time. Are all humans ready to fly cars? Not really. But who knows, the world will be different in the next 10 years.
