Smartwatches started off much as a gimmick, the wish to make a mobile phone on the wrist. They were never intended to work with the phone (because they were not-so-smart); instead they were replacements to the phone.
Great watch, in the first place. Love the paper white display for the ability to read it clearly in broad daylight. The build quality is indeed amazing, sticking to its name. The steel strap is actually rugged and feels safe in the hand.
The watch is not very heavy on the hand, considering I have been wearing heavy ones like the Casio G Shock watch before. The design is considerably slim, and the watch suits both formal and informal clothing.
The plus point of all Pebble watches has been the out-of-the-modern 5 day battery life. Using the Bluetooth LE (low energy) Technology, there is no compromise on the battery life of the device. And if you don't use blutooth that often, expect a battery life of over a week. Outstanding!
Coming to the internals. The specs are unbelievably low:
And still, the watch is very responsive. However, it does tend to hang when too many tasks are being done too quickly. The watchfaces are really cool (at least over a 1000 on the store, with the ability to make you own ones), and there are enough apps to play with (over 1000, compared to under 200 apps for any other smartwatch).

The latest firmware update on the watch provides fitness trackers to us the gyroscope and pedometer on the pebble to track activity - making the pebble a good fitness band! You ban now use Misfit and Jawbone UP apps with the Pebble.
All in all, its a well built smartwatch deserving to be the best of its category in the world. It now retails for only $199 and the original Pebble is priced at $99.
