2014 is almost over, and here is a list of the top 7 Massively Multiplayer Online Games for PC:
7. Arcane Legends
Arcane legends is a browser based fantasy MMORPG by Spacetime Studios which is available on multiple platforms. With a great customization system, the game let's you ghoose from three classes, the Sorcerer, the Warrior, and the Rogue. The game is known for its beautifully designed GUI and the cartoony graphics and like any other MMORPG you can have your companions adventure with you. The only downfall is that the game is browser based for PCs and can't be enjoyed without a gamepad. Overall, a fun game to play.
6. Dota 2
This game is one of the earliest in the MOBA genre of games. A Multiplayer Online Battle Arena is exactly what this game is. Featuring many different characters to choose from the players must select their faction, The Dire or The Radiant. Making a team of five, each team must destroy the opponent's "Ancients" (a huge tower at the faction's spawn area"). Each hero has unique abilities and customizations, so the user can decide their own play style. This game is definitely a huge competetor for all the other MOBAs in the market.
5. DC Universe Online
Another masterpiece by Sony Online Entertainment. Another MMORPG based upon the fictional universe of DC Comics, this game will fulfill all your childhood dreams. What makes this game so special is that the players can customize their abilities and powers to make their characters unique, after which they can choose to either be one of the good guys (Hero) or the bad guys (Villain). The PVP quests make the game more fun to play and all the comical refrences to the DC Universe makes the game relatable and fun to play. It's a free-to-play game with stunning visuals, I would totally recommend all the DC fans to play it.
Adhesive Games has managed to bring themselves into the limelight with their new Multiplayer Online First-person Shooter, Hawken. Hawken is unlike every other FPS you play, It's based on an era where one must battle to survive, the players ride on bipedal battle mech which they can customize. Surprisingly, this game is compatible to virtual reality headsets such as the Oculus Rift- imagine going into a huge robot and entering the battle field... now that's amazing. It's an interesting game with a well created plot.
3. APB Reloaded
APB: All Points Bulletin, a game by GamersFirst, has finally heard the word on the streets and worked on creating what everyone's been waiting for. If you have everplayed an open world game like the GTA series, you know how lonely it gets after a point. Well, no more, APB Reloaded is a open-world MMORPG with two factions to choose from the Enforcer or Criminal. With one of the best character customiztion systems, it does pretty good as far as the graphics are concerned. However, if you expect to have fun riding around the city, it might be disappointing to know that the driving system is really poor and you can't expect to get around the city without crashing into every building.
2. The Elder Scrolls Online
The Elder Scrolls Online. Bethesda Softworks, after their great success with Skyrim, they decided to launch a MMORPG with similar features. ESO is more fun to play if you have already completed playing other games in the TES series. ESO has no single quest line and thus has endless possibilities, the game is great for people who like fiction. The game is paid-to-play and requires a monthly subscription to keep playing though, which seems to be the only issue now. If you're thinking of getting this game, make sure you've tried one of the games from the TES series.
Neverwinter, a perfect MMORPG by Perfect World Entertainment. It is a fantasy game with several races to choose from, Human, Drow, Dwarf, Half-Elf, Half-Orc, Wood-Elf, Moon-Elf, Sun-Elf, Tiefling, Halfling, DragonBorn, Menzoberranzan Renegade,etc.., making the individual player more unique to the world. The players can choose from 7 different classes, Control Wizard, Devoted Cleric, Great Weapon Fighter, Guardian Fighter, Hunter Ranger, Scourge Warlock, Trickster Rogue and many more to come. The game comprises of a huge map with un-imaginable sceneries and quests. A great inventory of mounts and pets makes the game all the more fun to play. Neverwinter never gets boring because of all the social quests you do with your party and all the fun events that PWE keeps constant on occasions. I would rate this game as the best MMORPG of 2014.
There are some great games we can expect from 2015. The long awaited GTA 5 is expected to release on 27th January 2015. Another great MMORPG is Albion, this game consits of no classes, you are what you wear. Bethesda Softworks has announced their new MMO, Battlecry which is expected to release by July, 2015. H1Z1 is another MMORPG by Sony Online Entertainment to look into, the game is PVE and focuses on team-work to survive against zombies.
Well, that's all for 2014 folks.
