Luca Todesco dropped a bombshell.
Just last month, Luca — the young hacker who is known to tease iOS jailbreaks — announced on Twitter that he could jailbreak iOS 10.1. He even managed to seed a beta jailbreak for iOS 10.1, but it wouldn’t run mobile substrate yet. Before he could establish that into a full jailbreak, he announced that he would jailbreak iOS 10.2 instead. And it is here, all you jailbreak fans!
This jailbreak only works on the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, 7 and 7 Plus, however it may be possible that a version for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus is also release. [This may still in BETA.]
The process of jailbreaking the phone is actually really straightforward, and I’ll leave it to EverythingApplePro to explain it in his video:
The sad part is, Luca may not work on jailbreaks anymore… and with increasing security and integrity of iOS, future jailbreaks have a frail future. So if you are into jailbreaking, cherish this final opportunity and do it! [However, jailbreak responsibly. It is your data and your device - so think before doing it, and especially consider the security risks!]
