Samsung has officially announced that they will be launching the Galaxy Note7 on August 2nd 2016.
The event is set to occur in New York at 11:00 AM EDT (8:30 PM IST). A live stream of the event will be available on Samsung's global website.
Samsung also explained why the next Galaxy Note is called Note7 instead of Note6. They say:
First and foremost though, you might be curious as to why it’s called Galaxy Note7 instead of Galaxy Note6. There are a couple reasons why. First, the Galaxy Note7 will complement our Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, and unify our product portfolio. Second, the Galaxy Note7 will minimize confusion about the latest mobile technology from Samsung, and provide full alignment with Galaxy S smartphone.
The Galaxy Note7 has been heavily leaked leaked on the internet. The following picture was leaked by @OnLeaks on Twitter recently, which showcases all of the Note7's design:
The Note7 is said to come with a 5.7-inch QHD Super-AMOLED display, a 12MP camera from the Galaxy S7, and will run on the Exynos 8893 or the Snapdragon 820 CPUs (depending on the region) and 4 GB RAM. Some rumours also point to 6 GB RAM.
